A nice Espresso
If you already like black coffee, and want to move on to something even more advanced, try an espresso. Espresso is a type of coffee that's commonly drunken in Italy. It is usually served in very small cups, because it is highly concentrated. The difference between typical American drip coffee and Italian espresso is like the difference between a pint of beer and a shot of whiskey. They are both contain roughly, the same amount of caffeine, but the espresso is more concentrated. The taste of a shot of espresso can be overwhelmingly bitter when you first try it. If this is the case, you can put in milk, or sugar, or even squeeze a lemon into the espresso shot, but I like to take it like it comes out of the machine: black, no sugar, no milk, just pure, unadultered, Italian espresso. It's a great way of experiencing Italian culture, while also getting that boost of caffeine. For those who like an extra kick, espresso is the way to go!
